Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, ... the way we live, what is happening."

I first heard of this infamous quote in college and have held it closely to my heart ever since. And through my years of experience in the fashion industry, I am a witness to its truth. Before coming to life in a garment, fashion is an echo of Creation in its many forms. Often times we take for granted the beauty in the world around us, moving too quickly to stop and realize that the most breathtaking art forms originated from its source.

As a fashion influencer, one of the questions I have been asked multiple times is: "Can you define your style?" I always struggle to answer this loaded question; but if I had to articulate my personal style into words I would say I am:

A Love Story.

These words almost float around in an imaginary space as to define fashion is quite impossible to catch in its entirety. That's one of the reasons fashion is so beautiful; the fleeting definition leaves so much mystery to be explored. Such was my distracted thought process as I strolled along the streets of Madison Avenue NYC. My head was high in the clouds when a burst of pastel colors in a cozy little shop on the corner caught my eye. I walked closer to find: Sugarfina.

And thus began a new page in my love story, which is super fitting as Sugarfina as defined by the Founders Rosie and Josh is, in fact, a love story itself! The inspired idea was birthed from a first date in which the two decided to view the beloved classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. From there blossomed the idea for the ultimate candy shop for grownups. Oh, but Sugarfina is so much more than that! It is a dream; a chic boutique full of curated candies chosen from all over the world. I was lost in a wonderland of  rosé gummy bears, birthday cake caramels, and sea salt licorice

A bag full of treats and a couple blocks later, I found myself in my wardrobe lost in a sea of ideas. Perhaps it was the soft french music in the background or the perfectly painted candy flowers strewn about the shelves, but Fashion was inspired in that special little shop. Fast forward and from a simple Sugarfina experience, a vision was hand crafted with love into a reality. In collaboration with Wear The Paint, Designer Victoria Wong and I joined together to create the loveliest white lace and soft blue tulle ensemble I ever did see. And all this inspired by Sugarfina.

I still smile when I think of how Miss Chanel said it best; in this case, Fashion existed in a candy shopAnd that is the love story of how an enchanting boutique of sweets touched the inspiration of a dreaming doll to C R E A T E.
