A HUGE thank you to our new friends at America's Best Racing for inviting us to witness history in motion last Saturday at the Belmont Stakes. The closest we have ever been to the races is Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady; needless to say, we were extremely giddy(up!) to get all dolled up to see the jockeys and horses. More specifically, we couldn't wait to place all bets on our super-horse choice- the AMAZING American Pharaoh!

We were treated like Belmont royalty the moment we arrived; enjoying private seating with VIP access to the paddock area right next to all the live action. We also enjoyed unlimited cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (not to mention our favorite horse shaped sugar cookies!). After relaxing the whole afternoon with New York's finest, from bloggers of all trades to renaissance horse racing lovers, we finally gathered on the sidelines to watch the much awaited race. We all held our breath as the horses sped through the long winding stretch, wondering if the 37 year search for the next best racehorse would finally end.

Staying ahead of the game from beginning to end like a true champ, American Pharaoh had the crowd thundering in applause and excitement, covering the distance in 2 minutes and 26.65 seconds! The energy was exhilarating; it was such a thrill to witness such a grandiose event right in front of our very eyes! Thank you again to America's Best Racing and specifically Dan Tordjman for introducing us to an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. We can't wait to be back next year!
