OUTFIT: 'TWEED'ING INTO THE NEW YEAR
Happy New Years Eve friends! We cannot believe how quickly 2014 has flown by. At the beginning of this year this blog was just a little dream tucked away under busy schedules and to do lists. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all your love, support, and prayers. We feel so overwhelmed with God's blessings (big + small) and are so grateful for the chance to share with all of you.
Without further adieu, we would love to introduce Sarah Gentillon, fabulous fashion stylist + dear friend. Sarah has graced the pages of the most coveted names from print to editorial including Vogue Taiwan! It was such a joy and honor to work with this lovely and oh-so talented lady. Be sure to check her out on www.SarahGentillon.com.
New Years Eve is usually the mandatory sequins + sparkles event of the year. However, we wanted to put our own Dollhouse [TWEED] Twist on one of the most glamorous nights of 2014. For those opting to leave the sparkle + shine to the NYE ball in Times Square and bubbly champagne, tweed is a classy and luxe alternative. Not to mention, tweed has been all over this year's runway from Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Celine, and Dries Van Noten.
We love tweed because it is a lush and beautiful canvas to layer on your own personal style with accessories. You can choose a more polished to perfection look (see Nika) by keeping the jewelry to a minimum, colors consistent in complimentary shades, and including a knockout pair of pumps and of course, a handbag to make a statement louder than any sparkle (We love Louis Vuitton!). On the other hand, you can also go with a more flirty + fun look (see Bianca) by choosing a necklace sure to grab the whole room's attention (Dannijo is our new favorite!) and a basic color pump with a complimentary texture to add dimension to the outfit.
Bottom line is, you don't need sequins and sparkles to shine tonight. Choose what works for YOU and it will, well, work for you! Most importantly, we wish you all the most lovely and joyful NYE as we say goodbye to 2014 and hello to the new year. The best is yet to come!
